Foundation Repair Calgary

TYPES OF WORK WE DO

Who We Are

Back to Square specializes in foundation stabilization and concrete repair for residential and commercial properties. From failing retaining walls to homes shifting on unstable ground, we’ve worked on a wide range of structural challenges in Calgary. We take pride in finding practical, long-term repair solutions and being upfront about what a project truly requires. Transparency, collaboration, and reliable workmanship are at the core of every job we take on.

Areas of Specialty

Foundation Stabilization

Foundation settlement can cause cracks, uneven floors, sticking doors, and other structural problems over time. We use proven stabilization methods such as screw piles, steel piers, and helical piles to help support and stabilize foundations properly. Every project is carefully assessed to determine the best repair approach based on the structure, soil conditions, and severity of movement.

Concrete Crack Reinforcement

Cracks in foundations, retaining walls, and structural concrete can be signs of movement, water intrusion, or ongoing stress within the structure. We use repair methods like carbon fibre reinforcement and epoxy injection systems to strengthen damaged concrete and help prevent the issue from getting worse. When moisture is involved, we focus on identifying the source of the problem instead of simply covering up the symptoms.

Concrete Structure ReMEDIATION

Over time, structural concrete can deteriorate from moisture, corrosion, impact damage, and general wear. We repair and restore damaged columns, beams, supports, and other structural components using specialized repair materials and reinforcement systems designed to improve strength and stability. Our goal is to help extend the structure's lifespan while restoring its performance.

Soil Stabilization

Weak or shifting soil conditions can cause settlement, movement, and foundation instability. Our soil stabilization services are designed to strengthen and support the ground beneath structures using engineered methods designed for the site conditions. By dealing with poor compaction and unstable soils early, we help reduce future movement and protect the long-term stability.

Why Choose Us?

Beyond concrete and foundation repair, we want to provide a positive and responsive experience. We genuinely care about the work we do, and more importantly, we want to help.

Warranties & Flexible Payment

We stand behind the work we do with a written two-year warranty on completed repairs because we believe the solutions we provide are built to last. Structural problems can happen unexpectedly, and we recognize that these types of repairs are not always planned for.

To help make the process easier, we offer flexible payment options for homeowners dealing with newly discovered structural concerns or foundation issues during a home purchase. Payment flexibility is also available for strata organizations. Financing is provided directly through us, so there is no need to go through a third-party lender. Certain conditions may apply.

Patrick Theoret, owner

Patrick is the owner of Back to Square and has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry. His background includes residential electrical work, general contracting, and civil construction on residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

2006

While working on fire and flood restoration projects, Patrick saw firsthand the damage caused by sinking foundations, structural cracks, and water intrusion. This led him to concentrate on concrete repair and foundation stabilization.

2006

Patrick became a trusted contractor for homeowners, restoration companies, and developers needing structural concrete repairs and foundation restoration. His experience helped him develop practical, long-lasting repair solutions for a wide range of structural issues.

2007

Patrick was an early adopter of high-pressure crack injection systems used to repair structural concrete cracks and water intrusion issues. These repair methods provided property owners with effective alternatives to major structural replacement.

2017

Patrick was also among the first contractors in the area to use carbon fibre reinforcement systems for structural concrete repairs. Back to Square continues to use modern repair methods and proven technologies to strengthen and restore damaged structures.

HOW WE DO REPAIRS

Curious to know how it all works? Our partner, Rhino, has provided these helpful renderings to illustrate the types of repairs we can complete. Take a look, we can do concrete repairs indoors, outdoors, big or small!

Cracked or Settling Concrete? We Can Help

When concrete begins to sink, crack, or settle, replacement is not always the only option. Our technicians use polyurethane foam injections to lift and stabilize slabs, level uneven areas, and fill voids under the surface. Small holes are drilled into the concrete, then foam is injected below, where it expands to support and raise the slab back into place. This method is a cost-effective alternative to excavation, demolition, and backfilling. It helps reduce project time, leaves no harmful residue behind, can be done for any concrete structure, and provides lasting performance with a life expectancy of up to 125 years.

It was a pleasure to have Back to Square work on our foundation repair project. Patrick’s knowledge and attention to details made us confident that this repair will be the last one we will need. This was not a simple project as it involved stabilization (injection) and crack filling and reinforcement (rebar staples and carbon fibre mat). The reinforcement was essential because of seasonal movement. Patrick took care of all the details and explained the process at each step of the way. Patrick explained how detrimental shortcuts and compromises would be in a clear and transparent fashion to justify the cost of the project. We would not hesitate to recommend Back to Square for foundation repair work.

André Vien

I had the pleasure of working with Patrick for two years in Mission Group’s Construction Division, Preconstruction Department. During that time Patrick and I worked on ferrying a number of high-rise, low-rise and commercial/light industrial projects through the preconstruction process.

Patrick’s considerable experience in a broad variety of construction specialties proved to be extremely valuable in analyzing and planning for the variety of projects he participated in. His attitude, dedication and the expertise he demonstrated was very helpful and highly appreciated.

Patrick has also worked as a subcontractor for Mission Group doing leak detection and the remedial work required to fix not just the water ingress but the structural deficiencies that were found to be the root cause of the leaks.

I can say from my experience that Patrick Theoret is a dedicated, professional construction expert and as a contractor, he will have your back.
